Dear Mr. Mazzuca,
Enclosed please find my Eagle Award.   I am returning it to the Boy Scouts of America as a symbol of solidarity with the Eagle Scouts that have already made the very difficult decision to renounce their awards in the face of bigotry by an organization that we have all loved for many years.
I do not make this decision lightly.  As a middle school teacher, parent of five and recent Assistant Scoutmaster I will no longer identify myself as an Eagle Scout in my daily conversations as I continue to model the values of the Oath and Law.    I will not serve the organization in any capacity nor will I contribute to BSA financially until this travesty of equal rights is rectified.
I encourage you to use your leadership position on the board to reverse this decision.  Our country is watching.
Respectfully,
Paul A. Terkelsen
